Transition Edinburgh South at Gracemount Community Garden

How can you support Transition Edinburgh South? All interested persons can share the joy of planting and seeing things grow in the Gracemount Community Garden. But we urgently need to improve the facilities on site, and for this we ask for your generous support.

When City of Edinburgh Council took the decision to close the nearby 17th century Gracemount Mansion, we sadly lost our base and essential services. Thanks to the Lottery Community Fund we were able to buy a secure portacabin, for the use of our volunteers and visitors. We hoped that this will contain a small kitchen, WC and hand-washing facilities but did not have enough funds.  We launched an appeal, orginally for all of the £7000 we needed but realised this was too ambitious and reduced it to £3000 and have achieved 75% of this target, thank you. Waitrose gave us a generous cheque for £2000 and so thank you to them. But we are not quite there yet. The toilet is installed and can be used, but, as yet, we still have no electricity and are still fundraising.

The garden helps the community grow stronger. Please help us in our goal. Any amount, large or small, will help in our mission to create transformative change. Select the button below to donate by PayPal or with a credit or debit card. Thank you!
