EVENTS IN JANUARY 2026

Regular events

Adult volunteering sessions

Dress for the weather, relaxed and informal.
10am until 2pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Drop in Youth Groups

Always with, play, crafts, snack and gardening. We’ve raised a little bit more money to extend these popular groups. Suitable for 5yr olds and up.

3pm until 6pm on Mondays,  Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We’re really excited to extend these sessions. We know that it’s getting cold and dark but we can still make the garden a safe and warm place. We’ll have garden fun, arts, crafts, (controlled) bonfires, fresh food and some toasted marshmallows.

Community lunch

Every Friday, served from 12.30pm – This is our favourite part of the week, we love to share our food with everyone and always have something delicious. Come and play, garden, chat, eat, tell stories, sing and join in.

Queer gardening group

A super safe space to learn about gardening and nature. During December, January and February we’ll hold extra special sessions for the queer group every two weeks. Check our socials for news.

Additional Information

We will be closed for the duration of the school holidays over the festive period. Our last day, with community lunch, will be Friday 19th December. We’ll be back for business as usual from Monday 5th January.

It’s midwinter so watch our Facebook and Instagram for weather updates.

NEW WORKSHOPS: Regenerative Practice In Community Gardens

For anyone interested in community gardening

We’ll work together to develop our best practice in sharing our green spaces.

Join us for 6 winter mornings in the cosy environment of the Salisbury Centre. This series invites participants to slow down, listen, explore, and co-create a regenerative way of being.

Using ecological principles, shared dialogue, and embodied practices, we will explore how individuals and communities can thrive by connecting with each other and with the living world.

Each session blends conversation, experiential learning, and collective discovery. Over the 6 sessions our aim is to generate conversations that inspire best practice in community gardens.

Each week we’ll dig in to the principles of regeneration: not just in the soil but in ourselves and our communities. Expect stories, practical skills, reflection and a growing circle of people ready to learn together.

The sessions will be hosted by Richard and Rob from Transition Edinburgh South. Both have over twenty years experience of community gardening and regenerative practice.

The workshops will be inclusive and open to all. People of all ages and all backgrounds, experienced community gardeners and new community gardeners are all welcome.

Come with curiosity and leave with roots.
