Terms and conditions

If you use the Transition Edinburgh South (TES) Website (the ‘Website’), you agree with the following terms governed by Scots law:

Access and Content

  • We try to make sure your access to the Website is uninterrupted, but may change things or take things down without prior notice.
  • We can’t be responsible for what other websites say even if we share links.
  • Nor are we inviting you to buy services or products talked about on the Website.

Intellectual Property

  • The copyright for our web design, content and graphics exists under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 3.0: Generic Licence.
  • This means that any of your work on the Website belongs to you and your name will be on it (though we do get to use, copy, and distribute this data royalty-free and as we please forevermore).
  • The transitionedinburghsouth.org domain name is owned by - you guessed it - Transition Edinburgh South.  Other names belong to their respective owners.

Exclusions of Liability

  • We do our best to ensure Website data is accurate and will correct mistakes ASAP.  That said, we do not fact check for third parties, and can’t monitor everything that goes up. So, we are not liable for errors in this content.
  • Because countless people post on the Website, we’re not accountable for losses stemming from use of (or inability to use) the Website except where the law says so.
  • We cannot promise the Website won’t have viruses or other bugs, either.

Username and Password

  • On registering with TES, you’ll get a personal, non-transferable username and password for access to restricted Website areas.
  • Keep them safe as you are responsible for anything posted under your name.  If you think someone is using your username and password, let us know immediately.

User Submitted Data

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your posted data.
  • Take all reasonable precautions with viruses and other nasties, too.
  • Don’t publish anything objectionable, or that violates the law.  We’ll remove it if we think it’s harmful or a misuse of the Website.
  • You are subject to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 (third parties that are harmed by your misuse of the Website may press charges) and accountable for any loss that we suffer from your not following these terms.
  • We use information you and others supply to improve the Website, flag changes, and personalise your experience.  If you’re not ok with this, simply send an email to the Get Involved Team.
  • The UK Data Protection Act 1998 protects the information you provide, which you may edit whenever you wish.

Termination

  • We can terminate your access to the Website and accompanying services with written notice.

General

  • If any of these terms turns out to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, it will be taken out without affecting any other provisions.
