The Edinburgh Local Food Network is a coalition of organisations and individuals who care about local food and support the development of a truly sustainable and equitable food system for our region. We exist to communicate the full picture of our local food system, create a vision of what it could become, work towards making growing and eating locally produced food easier and raise awareness throughout the region about the importance of local food for health, society and the environment.
Currently, we are setting up a series of events to get local food people in Edinburgh and the Forth Valley together to share experiences and find out what everyone is doing and to begin collaborating a bit more. At these gatherings, we get a better idea of how areas of our food system are already being localised and what might need more attention in the future. Different themed events will focus on various areas of our food supply and food production in the Forth Valley region and Edinburgh city.
