Job: Research Assistant, January 2010 – February 2011

TES is recruiting a Research Assistant for its Switching on to Switching off project for 2010.

Transition Edinburgh South is part of the Transition Town Initiatives and is a friendly grassroots community group with a focus on community action in sustainability. It is based in South Edinburgh and currently has over 150 members and friends

The research assistant will work closely with members of the group in developing and delivering the second stage of a community based sustainability project, with a focus on energy efficiency in two tenement streets in South Edinburgh.

The post will provide experience and training in community engagement with a particular focus on raising awareness, motivational interviewing, qualitative and quantitative research and energy efficiency.

This is an interesting and varied post with great opportunities for developing knowledge and skills. The researcher will gain experience in project administration and management, community engagement; raising awareness and in training members of the community in energy efficiency.

In addition, the researcher will receive training from the Scottish Education and Action for Development, the Energy Saving Trust, Changeworks and other Transition groups as well as training in motivational interviewing and qualitative and quantitative research.
