"Want to know if you could generate your own energy at home? Well done you. It’s people like you that lead the way, try new things, and reap the rewards.
Whether you’re interested in some simple solar panels to heat your hot water or a brand new ground source heat pump for your home, we can help.
Message from the Energy Saving Trust:
In relation to the installation of renewable energy sources the Energy Saving Trust has a grant available to help install heat generating technologies in individual properties. For example solar water heating, biomass, heat pumps. The level of grant offered by the Energy Saving Scotland home renewables grant is 30% of the cost of the measure and installation, to a maximum of £4k. One household can apply for a grant for two technologies, so you could claim up to £8k in total. You can download a grant pack from the website at http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Generate-your-own-energy/Grants-offers-Scotland. Please note however that this grant is set to close on the 23rd July 2010.
For people who live in Scotland we have free impartial advice, as well as grants funded by the Scottish Government that cover up to 30% (to a max. of £4000) of the installation of heat generating renewable technologies.
Electricity generating renewable technologies are eligible for clean energy cash back such as Feed-in Tariffs. If you’re not sure which technology would work for you – we even have advisors who can visit your home for free to help work that out for you.
Want to know more about home renewables? Get in touch. It’s free and completely impartial. "
